[UI/UX] Packwell – Tack Back Order

Context
The context and prototypes were adapted due to disclosure matters (NDA).
Packwell sells everyday goods such as boxes, tape and pallets. The company owns several warehouses (North, South, East and West), and the planners who run orders use an internal tool called Orders. Every order is sent to another system, which processes the purchase and delivery. Once an order is sent, it is recorded there.
Problem
Customers sometimes give back or cancel part of what they bought. The planner can't just lower a number in the table. That quantity was already sent in one or more earlier deliveries, and the other system needs to know exactly which ones to take it back from.
Before this prototype:
Planners had to work out by hand which deliveries covered the amount.
It was easy to pick one that was too small, or to take items from the wrong delivery.
When the customer returned more than was available, nothing flagged the shortfall.
Solution

A guided Take Back Order. The planner types a negative quantity, and the tool does the hard part:
It suggests the deliveries to take items back from, newest first, until the amount is covered.
It shows a preview of exactly what will be taken from each delivery.
It warns when the request can't be fully covered, and takes only what is available.
The planner stays in control. They can change the suggested deliveries, apply the change to many items at once, or undo it before sending.
Prototype
The prototype was built with Claude AI.
One delivery is enough. On Orders, the planner edits a row's Quantity to a negative number. A "Complete the Take Back Order" drawer opens with the one delivery that covers it. The planner saves, and the row locks with a small gear icon to reopen the setup.
No single delivery is enough. The drawer suggests several deliveries, newest first. A preview adds them into one line with the total, and hovering shows the amount per delivery.
3. Not enough to take back. The planner asks for −120, but only 105 are available. The tool flags the row with a warning, and saves −105.
Additional cases:Many items at once. The planner selects several rows, clicks Edit and enters a negative quantity. Each row gets its own delivery suggestion.
Changed their mind. Turning a take back into a normal positive number opens a "Discard Take Back Order Setup" dialog. It warns that the setup will be deleted, so nothing is lost by accident.
